Well it's been a heck of a great 6 months since gmhCafe Radio launched, and it's been quite a 'blast' as I say on every show!
The more music I came across the more it showed that there are just WAY too many fantastic musicians that deserve to be 'heard' and it's a great feeling to feel that we helped put a few of them in the musical 'spotlight'.
If you have original tunes in just about any genre, you can submit them to info@gmhCafe.ca and we'll give em all a listen for review and possible feature on one of our programs.
Our "Country Livin' Show" featuring acoustic, acoustic Folk/rock and Light Country, Bluegrass, is a more 'grass roots' lighter side of the musical spectrum and it shot off in popularity right from the starting gate, with lots of submissions from all around the Globe. We've helped 'discover' new bands, and some up and coming Rising Stars that I'm certain we'll hear more from in the future - here and on other programs and by way of new CD's etc. "You are all amazing in my books". thank you.
Our "UnderGround Cafe" show, which is a little 'harder' and edgier featuring rock, Indie, electric, - the edgy side of the spectrum was a 'hit' with those who appreciate the "Indie" side of things. Again, some fantastic artists, some new and rising stars, and always a 'treat' to the ears, with surprises along the way. I get to let loose a bit more on this show and yep, 'it's a BLAST" !
Our other programs, that boast "More Music, Less Talk" are also doing very well, although it's more difficult to guage popularity etc - as more feedback would be a good thing. This is something we'll be working on in 2012.
Check out Easy Does It, - pleasant music in the light rock, smooth electric genres. It "Easy on the Ears" in the mainstream styles.
Music and Nature Channel is our Flagship program that was an immediate 'go to' for those who just wanted to sit back and relax while listening to the pleasant sounds of Nature and soothing music - great for just relaxing, or for the Spa, - listen for more variety in the format in 2012.
Blue Realm turned out to be one of those 'sleeper' channels that - while not being the most popular by our members and visitors, was launched to provide those who wanted a more eclectic music experience in the " Chill, Meditative, Lounge" genres. There's a wide selection of artists here, with some very coooool music.. check it out if you haven't yet! lots new tunes coming to this channel too in 2012.
